100% of donations from this afternoon’s concert will be redirected towards street vendor buyouts via our friends at Pasadena For All’s ongoing fundraising. ABOLISH ICE!
Once upon a time our very first Living Earth gathering was organized in conversation with our dear friend Annabelle Freedman to host the incredible collective of humans that make up Ceasefire Choir underneath the Audubon Center’s majestic peppercorn tree. Since then (& well before) Annabelle has been such a strong and supportive presence in our communities who has weaved in and out of various beloved ensembles, but we’ve yet to lay out the fresh mulch for their own artistic work!
We’ve noticed that they’ve been in and out of the studio this year cutting a record of heart-affirming anthems featuring The Growth Eternal, Nailah Hunter, Tommaso Cappellato, Kenny Zhao, Sheila Govindarajan, Puja Singh, and such a deep group of friends. To honor the work in progress, and the eternal process, we’re co-presenting a two part gathering with our heroes of Scribble.
Join us at noon for a live performance underneath the peppercorn tree with Annabelle Freedman to share new music, old music, moments of silence, and moments of joy. Following this afternoon’s gathering we’ll pause for food, errands, taking care of our pets, and meet about 2mi’s away at Scribble for the premiere of Annabelle’s Wolf music video followed by an improvisatory open movement and jam session.
Bring a blanket, a friend, a picnic, and pull up with us.
All ages & donation based & Zapatista Coffee while it lasts.
Music begins around 12:30p.

A gentle reminder: please leave your adorable pups at home this afternoon as to not disrupt the Audubon Center’s ongoing habitat restoration efforts.
Annabelle Freedman is an ecstatic celebration of all things interdependence. When they’re not writing music, they’re teaching, and when they’re not teaching, they’re recording in friend’s ensembles, and when they’re not to be found, they’re usually masked up fighting for collective liberation in a society that does all it can to tear us down.
Through expressive vocals, violin, guitar, and anything else Annabelle & friends can get their hands on, their music is a journey best shared in community.
For 20+ years the Audubon Center at Debs Park has been a beacon for how conservation organizations can work within our cities to cultivate a deeper relationship between people and place. Through monthly hikes, restoration days, bird walks, field trips, movie nights, community festivals, and hosting gatherings like these each and every month, the Audubon Center at Debs Park has played an essential role in building a more diverse and inclusive conservation movement here in Los Angeles.
We’re so grateful for the humans of the Audubon Center, the advocacy that they champion in dialogue with local culture and native ecology, and it is an absolute honor to gather here together on the 3rd Saturday of (almost) every month.
