Amplifying communion between soundscape and landscape through the celebration of local art, music, and storytelling.
Living Earth is a solar-powered & Grammy-nominated outdoor arts series that works in conversation with conservation organizations, public parks, gardens, unique land projects, and cultural institutions to gather peoples of all ages to explore Tovaangar / Los Angeles (and beyond) through live performances, workshops, and transformative outdoor adventures.
Created and operated by local artists, naturalists, and organizers, these gatherings blend our lifetime love of interdependent music & native ecology, emphasizing deep listening as a form of reciprocity with the living world.
By reimagining public art as a creative act of restoration, Living Earth is a collective project in cultivating meaningful connections with our immediate communities, histories, ecosystems, and the planet, ultimately rehabilitating our relationship with nature and ourselves.
Since 2021 we have set a precedent for bringing art outdoors, have helped to redistribute more than $900k towards local artists and grassroots environmental organizations, have consulted with numerous orgs & artists on sustainable production methods, and along the way have produced the most solar powered concerts in the history of Los Angeles.
All power to the imagination
& we’ll see you outside.
“The crisis in which we live are not just ‘environmental,’ but perceptual. When the most powerful species on Earth ceases to listen to the voices of others, calamity ensues. The vitality of the world depends, in part, on whether we turn our ears back to the living Earth.”
- David George Haskell
