For 20+ years the Audubon Center at Debs Park has been a beacon for how conservation organizations can work within our cities to cultivate a deeper relationship between people and place. Through monthly hikes, restoration days, bird walks, field trips, movie nights, community festivals, and hosting gatherings like these each and every month, the Audubon Center at Debs Park has played an essential role in building a more diverse and inclusive conservation movement here in Los Angeles. We’re so grateful for the humans of the Audubon Center, the advocacy that they champion in dialogue with local culture and native ecology, and it is an absolute honor to gather here together on the 3rd Saturday of (almost) every month.
This Saturday underneath our beloved peppercorn tree we’re holding down an afternoon of community love & sonic blessings with artist-organizer NYALLAH. We were put on to NYALLAH’s songwriting through their work with Def Sound, and soon found an inspiring cosmology of artists, ideas, and gatherings that make up NYALLAH’s world. In the spirit of showing up & showing out NYALLAH has arranged a most epic ensemble of friends to share voice within this music including The Growth Eternal, Tee The Queen, Harriet Brown, Annabelle Freedman, James Barmore, and Anthony Calonico of Total Blue.
Bring a blanket, a friend, a picnic, and pull up with us this Saturday afternoon.
All ages & donation based & Zapatista Coffee while it lasts.
Music begins around 12:30p.
A portion of donations from today will be redistributed among Black and Brown families affected by the Eaton Fire & with a dear friend of ours whose car was broken into while fundraising for families in Altadena over the weekend.

A gentle reminder: please leave your adorable pups at home this afternoon as to not disrupt the Audubon Center’s ongoing habitat restoration efforts.
NYALLAH (they/them) is a Los Angeles-born, multihyphenate gender-fluid artist whose offerings include recording, songwriting, composition, vocal arrangement, artistic programming, music teaching, creative direction, DJing, and archival research. A graduate of USC's prestigious Popular Music program, their work bridges soulful R&B, ancestral healing, and transformative storytelling.
NYALLAH’s artistry has earned recognition from platforms like Bandcamp Daily, Teen Vogue, NTS Radio, and Dash Radio, alongside performances at sold-out shows in celebrated venues such as The Peppermint Club, Baby’s All Right, Public Records, and the Brooklyn Museum.
As the founder and programming director of NOIR AT NITE, a live music event series honoring the rich legacy of Black music, NYALLAH has created spaces for independent Black queer, TGNC, and femme artists to thrive. The series fosters communal connections through immersive performances, supporting the preservation of Black artistry while empowering the next generation of musicians.
Recovering from a near-death accident, NYALLAH channels their experiences into their latest project, R+B, a reimagination of R&B through a queer lens. This offering explores the intersections of desirability, love, and resilience, blending classic and alternative R&B/soul with deeply personal narratives. At its core, NYALLAH’s creative practice transforms trauma into art, offering sonic spaces for self-discovery, healing, and joy.
