Resonance: A Yoga & Sound Journey is a free monthly practice led by our community musician & yoga teacher Qur’an Shaheed that blends movement, breath, and live music outdoors in Arlington Garden to deepen our mind-body-nature connection.
This immersive experience weaves together flowing asana, guided breathwork, and intuitive soundscapes to create space for inner alignment and self-discovery. Rooted in both stillness and rhythm, each session invites you to tune in, release, and move in harmony with the present moment.
Each month we have a rotating musical guest, curated by Qur’an, to soundtrack our time together. Past friends have included Sharada Shashidhar, Matthewdavid, Salenta, Mekala Session, megiapa, Kiernan, and Jesse Justice who’ve shared music across flutes, modular synths, SP-404, zither, voice, and cello. This month’s sonic journey will be led by our dear friends and sweethearts, Diego Gaeta & V Ontiveros.
Movement is optional, there’s no experience required to sit in with us, and if you simply want to lay in the shade and listen that’s absolutely encouraged. To allow time for parking & settling into the garden, we’ll plan to begin around 12:15p.
Be well, take care of each other,
and we’ll see you at Arlington Garden!
ps. if you plan to join us, we ask that you please fill out this liability waiver for the garden. ty!

Diego Gaeta is a keyboardist and producer born and raised in Los Angeles whose work blends and connects a sonic futurist approach that is informed by world folk music traditions of sacred improvisation. He recently released his debut album as a leader, titled "Fearlessly Accessing the Divine Spirit of Freedom From Here On Out" on Preference Records. Other releases include: "In Float" (with Lionmilk) on Leaving Records and "Una Luz Naranja" (with Carlos Niño) on Anandamide. He also recently appeared on two tracks from the Andre 3000 release "New Blue Sun" and has collaborated with Shabaka, Moor Mother, and many beloved musicians.
Along with V Ontoveros, an educator and vocalist, Diego & V share a solar powered homestead called Farm of the Angels on Elephant Hill where they grow veggies, make music, and host community gatherings.
Founded in opposition to overdevelopment and the expansion of the 710 Freeway, Arlington Garden is Pasadena's only dedicated public garden. Since breaking ground 20 years ago, this three-acre urban oasis has blossomed into a vibrant wildlife habitat for Pasadena's native flora and fauna, an outdoor classroom, and the host to the only remaining orange grove along historic Orange Grove Boulevard.
We gather at Arlington Garden monthly to reconnect with the natural world and with our community. Here, we are reminded of what's possible when we come together to self-determine our collective futures through art, ecology, and the simple act of gathering among friends. This garden stands as a testament to the power of grassroots action and the transformative potential of communal stewardship.
