El Sereno Community Garden
With our springtime blooms going to seed it’s time to plant our summer intentions with love and care. Gather with us this Saturday afternoon on the gorgeous land of El Sereno Community Garden for day of dance, friends, food, and footwork.
We’re collecting donations to support food & land justice work by PLURI. The Plurinational Land Reform in CA Work Group is a grassroots collective of young organizers, researchers, and students building campesin@ viability across greater CA. Their environmental analysis focuses on the domination of industrial agriculture across our state’s food system — through monopoly control over markets, land, and inputs —which pushes small, diversified campesin@s toward monoculture or out of farming entirely. In response, they challenge this trajectory by building the collective infrastructure that makes agroecological production the economic solution by centering campesino viability and land tenure as the foundation of ecological health.

This afternoon was fully and completely organized by Movida / Joana with Living Earth onsite to help bring sounds into being through solar power. 100% of your donations will be sent to Movida, we’re simply volunteering to support what we believe in. Established in 2002, El Sereno Community Garden is a gathering place for community, kindred spirits, and novice and master gardeners to share green space in historic El Sereno.
ESCG is volunteer stewarded and on a weekly basis is known to distribute free food among neighbors, host fundraisers in support of our immediate communities as well as as friends & families in Gaza, and has rooted itself as a hub for sustainable urban agriculture and essential pillar of resource sharing and support.
