Ceasefire Choir at the Audubon Center
When we love on the LA River, all 51mi’s of our beloved Paayme Paxaayt, we do so in community. While we might do so through sound and music we know and support so many who show up through birding, bicycling, habitat restoration, painting & sculpture, policy & advocacy, poetry, service & stewardship, kayaking, and so much more.
Since 2014, LA River Arts has cultivated public programs to bring us in closer communion with the LA River. They’ve produced zines, performances, grants, talks, site-specific art installations, and LA River Arts co-founder Elaine René-Weissman was even the architect of the great pavilion within Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park where so many of us have gotten together whether it be for a picnic, an event with Clockshop, a movement workshop with Pieter, and so much more.
This summer solstice, we hope you’ll join us for a long form gathering alongside the Glendale Narrows portion of the LA River. Among local vendors and art exhibitions we’ll be in the grass doing what we love - hosting solar powered performances throughout the day from Mary Lattimore, San Cha, the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, and Calycosa.
Thank you to LA River Arts for the loving invitation and we look forward to seeing you on the longest day of the year!
