Grab a flashlight, a sweater, and join us to explore Coldwater Canyon Park and neighboring Wilacre Park under the stars. Every fourth Friday we host an evening of music along a ridge trail overlooking the valley. Following these sunset sounds, TreePeople’s wonderful Eco-Educators lead three different hikes so that all ages and experience levels are welcome. This month we’ll be joined by our friends Tommaso Cappellato & Lalin St. Juste, performing as a duo for percussion and voice with mellow tones to soothe the soul.
Check-in starts at 6:30pm, music shortly after 7pm, the hike starts at 8 pm, and we’ll have hot tea available for the first hour! Early registration is required, and this evening is subject to change due to weather. See you on the mountain!
Italian musician, producer, DJ, and composer Tommaso Cappellato is a musical maverick—running the gamut from free‐form techno to hip‐hop production and jazz improvisation. Mentored by jazz visionaries Harry Whitaker (Black Renaissance), Michael Carvin (Pharoah Sanders), and collaborator with techno master Donato Dozzy, Tommaso’s seemingly unorthodox breadth of style and vision gives us a truly unique new school artist.
Lalin St. Juste's roots meet at the crossroads of the Western world. She dances as sounds slither in her mouth; painting the world with words birthed from a spirit veined with ancestral magic. Commonly described as "mesmerizing" and "hypnotizing" when she performs, St. Juste shifts the atmosphere with her voice, inviting you into her cosmic underworld.
