It’s been a long time coming & we’re so excited to participate in Compost Day LA!
Held quarterly at locations across our network of Compost Hubs, Community Compost Day is an all-ages event to connect us all with valuable resources, such as compost, trees, native plants, seeds, and mulch, while promoting environmental education, soil stewardship, and deepening engagement with our local lands. We’ll be DJ’ing throughout it all, bringing environmental ambient, jazz, and taureg music to your local mulch pile.
What to expect:
• Take home a 7.5-gallon bag of compost + 1 bag of mulch.
• A native milkweed giveaway led by Santa Monica Mountains Fund.
•Tree adoption led by City Plants.
• Urban Greening information from North East Trees.
• Learn about compost’s role in helping plants grow at a kid-friendly seed ball station using wildflowers and culturally significant seeds from the legacy of Juneteenth.
Compost and mulch is given out on a first-come, first-served basis—so we recommend arriving early! You’re also encouraged to bring your own containers, bags, buckets, or bins to help reduce waste. LA Compost will have pre-bagged compost available for convenience, but bringing your own helps to preserve burlap bags for future use.
See you there!
