hi! we’re at our comfortable capacity for gathering underneath this special peppercorn tree. however, there are many other places to be and lay down and wander and listen to music throughout the audubon center. we just ask to respect the shared environment & one another. much love and see you sunday!

For 20+ years the Audubon Center at Debs Park has been a beacon for how conservation organizations can work within our cities to cultivate a deeper relationship between people and place. Through monthly hikes, restoration days, bird walks, field trips, movie nights, community festivals, and hosting gatherings like these each and every month, the Audubon Center at Debs Park has played an essential role in building a more diverse and inclusive conservation movement here in Los Angeles. We’re so grateful for the humans of the Audubon Center, the advocacy that they champion in dialogue with local culture and native ecology, and it is an absolute honor to gather here together on the 3rd Saturday of (almost) every month.

This Saturday afternoon underneath our beloved peppercorn tree we gather within the music of two local forest faes whose celestial sounds hold a sacred bond with our natural world. To welcome the approaching spring season & the renewal that comes with, Dianna Lopez and Dream Crease offer companion performances rooted in nourishment and attunement with our more-than-human world. A balance of guitar and synth, of forest and ocean, and pulling the nutrients from the decomposition that’s all around us.

update: one of our favorite LA storytellers Mia Doi Todd will be joining us for a short solo performance of new music!!

Bring a blanket, a friend, a picnic, and pull up with us this Saturday afternoon.
All ages & donation based & Zapatista Coffee while it lasts.
Music begins around 12:30p.

A gentle reminder: please leave your adorable pups at home this afternoon as to not disrupt the Audubon Center’s ongoing habitat restoration efforts.

Dianna Lopez’s musical practice stems from her ever curiosity, love and respect of mother nature's natural rhythms. A song, a poem, a feeling.

Dream Crease is Marina Aguerre, a beloved local musician and organizer. Throughout her recordings and live performances, Marina creates worlds of magical proportions and depth, layering shimmering synths over ambient incantations.

In the fall of 2013, Marina also founded The Witching Hours, and has since held on air shows with both KXLU and dublab, in addition to coordinating hundreds of shows for local and touring musicians. She has also been a member of Spaceface, Dumbo Gets Mad, Teal Pop, Peel Dream Magazine, and Polartropica.
